FM meets UN humanitarian coordinat

SANAA, Feb. 25 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah met on Monday with the UNITED Nations Resident Coordinator for UN Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, Lise Grande.

During the meeting, the humanitarian and economic situation in Yemen was discussed in light of the continuing aggression and blockade.

The meeting reviewed the activities carried out by the United Nations Development Programme and assistance to displaced persons and those affected by the aggression in a number of governorates of the Republic.

At the meeting, the foreign minister noted the importance of concerted efforts by all to benefit from relief and food support programmes.

He stressed the readiness of the National Rescue Government to provide facilities to facilitate the work of the offices of United Nations organizations and agencies and international non-governmental organizations operating in Yemen, in order to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the aggression and blockade.

Grande said the UNITED Nations is keen to improve the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
