Ajman's Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation has announced that property deals worth AED8.9 billion ($2.42 billion) were registered in 2020.

Highlighting the stable performance of the emirate’s real estate market, the department said last year's largest deal valued at AED146 million, was clocked at Zahya District in the Eastern Sector, while the largest mortgage valued at AED467 million was registered in Al Jurf 1 District.

Nasser Al Marzouqi, Deputy Director-General of the Department, stressed that Ajman’s real estate sector had maintained its positive performance, due to the proactive measures taken by the government that reduced the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Real estate investments in 2020 stood at around AED4.6 billion, with investments by citizens totalling AED2.3 billion and foreign investments accounting for AED2.1 billion, Al Marzouqi stated.

The investments made by the GCC citizens in Ajman hit AED143 million, he added.
