FM meets ICRC's Director of Operations

SANA'A, Jan. 12 (Saba) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, met here on Tuesday with Director of Operations of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Dominik Stillhart.

During the meeting, they discussed areas of cooperation between Yemen and the ICRC delegation and ways to enhance and develop them.

In the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed his sincere condolences to the ICRC on the killing of three of its employees during the recent attack that targeted Aden Airport, hoping that this incident would not affect the ICRC’s activities in Yemen.

Sharaf stressed the readiness to provide all facilities for the work of the ICRC delegation in Sana'a, noting to the importance of doubling its activities in Yemen during the current year, in line with the growing humanitarian needs.

For his part, Stillhart affirmed that the ICRC will continue to provide all possible support to Yemen in order to contribute to alleviating the human suffering of the Yemeni people.
