Zakat Authority launches project to produce ,supply clothes for poor
SANA'A, Feb. 15 (Saba) - The General Authority for Zakat, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, launched on Monday in Sana'a a project to supply clothes for the poor and needy from local production at a cost of 600 million riyals under the slogan “Solidarity and Empowerment”.
The project, which comes within the economic empowerment program, targets 100,000 beneficiaries of the poor and needy in various provinces, with the participation of 1,200 Yemeni productive families.
At the inauguration, Head of the General Authority for Zakat, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, explained that the project is part of the Authority’s economic empowerment programs and projects.
Abu Nashtan pointed out that the Zakat Authority would launch, during this year, dozens of projects in the field of economic empowerment to reach the self-sufficiency stage and dispensing with international organizations.
