DHA receives full institutional accreditation from SCFHS
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has been awarded a full institutional accreditation by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), said a top health official.
Dr Wadeia Muhammad Sharif, Director of Medical Education and Research Department (MERD) at the DHA said the accreditation, which is valid for four years, was awarded after the SCFHS institutional committee completed a thorough evaluation of all the DHA’s Medical Education facilities and services. The commission also inspected all four DHA hospitals- Rashid, Dubai, Latifa and Hatta and 12 primary healthcare centres.
SCFHS team members also accessed the faculty and their ability to effectively provide SCFHS-approved programmes.
SCFHS is responsible for supervising and evaluating training programmes, as well as setting controls and standards for the practice of health professions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The accreditation means that DHA’s medical education training programmes are in line with the SCFHS regulations and accreditation standards.
Dr Sharif said: “Continuing medical education is particularly important in the field of healthcare which is ever-evolving. Our aim is to empower medical professionals with highly specialised and internationally accredited training programmes so that they adapt to the evolving needs of a healthcare sector and provide high-quality patient centered healthcare.”
