HODEIDA, Apr. 27 (Saba) - The employees of the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC)'s branch in Hodeida province have organized a protest in front of the United Nations office to denounce the continuous detention of oil ships by the Saudi-led coalition.

In the protest held on Monday, the YPC's employees raised banners condemning the continued siege of the Yemeni people and preventing the entry of oil derivative ships despite having UN permits.

In a statement, they condemned the arbitrary practices of the aggression countries in detaining oil ships and the continued piracy and its catastrophic repercussions on the Yemeni people.

The statement condemned the United Nations' negligent position regarding the detention of fuel ships, which are five ships carrying 128,035 tons of gasoline and diesel.

It called on the United Nations to play its role to release the detained oil ships and to ensure that they are not detained any more in the future, and to neutralize the oil company and its facilities from the systematic destruction by the aggression forces and to lift the ban on the port of Hodeida.

The statement appealed to the international organizations and community to put pressure on the aggression countries to stop the acts of maritime piracy in the Red Sea.
