Hazm al-Jawf Customs Center thwarts the smuggling of large quantities of cannabis
SANA'A, Jun. 07 (Saba) - Customs officers at Hazm al-Jawf Customs Centre were able to seize on Tuesday a quantity of narcotic cannabis.
A communiqué issued by the Customs Agency Saba received a copy that the amount seized by Hazm al-Jawf Customs Centre was estimated at about 350kg.
The quantity was tightly hidden under the back box under cement bags on truck carrying local cement coming from Hadramaut and inspected and discovered by the Customs Officer in cooperation with the Centre's security and intelligence services.
The Director of Nehm and Al-Jawf Customs Centre, Youssef Al-Amari, explained that the Centre has already frustrated more than an attempt to smuggle cannabis, stressing that the awareness of customs officers was and will continue to be observed.
