Industry Minister stresses need for continued communication with WTO
SANA'A, Aug.07 (Saba) - The Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammed Sharaf al-Mutahar, stressed Sunday the need for continued communication with the World Trade Organization and various international organizations to develop the national economy and achieve Yemen's integration into the world economy.
During today's meeting in Sana'a to discuss mechanisms for activating the liaison office and coordination with the World Trade Organization (WTO), Minister al-Mutahar urged to prepare a plan on reinstating discontinued projects, reactivating channels of communication with the WTO and international organizations and sharing information with them in order to contribute to the development of the economic sector, improve indicators of the business environment in our country and follow up new developments on international trade regulations.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce directed the Liaison Office in coordination with the Ministry's various sectors as well as the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry to raise the level of national economic alignment with global developments and adherence to international standards in various fields.
He stressed the importance of training and qualifying the Ministry's cadres and relevant bodies on the principles of international trade and enhancing cooperation with international organizations.
